Welcome! I’m Sarah, a pianist and a piano teacher that believes that anyone can learn piano if they really want to. There’s more to this than exercises and boring old method books. Let’s bring it into the 21st century! There’s so much music out there, are you ready to play it?

Meet Your Teacher

My name is Miss Sarah and I love to teach piano! In 2015 I established my very own private piano studio. I teach out of my home in East Irondequoit, NY with my fluffy assistants Ninja and Cinder.

I am a member of the Rochester Piano Teacher’s Guild. Being a part of this organization means I have the opportunity to continually learn and improve my teaching. I also spent two years as the President elect of the Summit County chapter of the Ohio Music Teachers Association (OMTA), and two years as Vice-President of the same organization.

Originally from Western New York, I’ve lived in Ohio, Iowa, and Missouri, before moving back to the Rochester area in 2019. My piano teachers have included Phyllis East and Mary Cobb at SUNY Fredonia. In 2018 finished my Bachelors in piano performance at the University of Akron with Dr. Mayumi Kikuchi.

I also hold a Bachelors in Music Performance (2004) from SUNY Fredonia and a Masters in Music Performance (2008) from BSGU, both in the oboe.

My husband and I have a nine year old named William and a five year old named Charlotte.
